"Superb"

Absolutely beautiful little house in the forest surrounded by rice paddies. The hosts are very kind, professional and honest people. The house is pretty secluded but this was no problem as Adi was very helpful in arranging transportation. The next day Kadek gave us a tour through the jungle and village giving us a nice feeling for life in the mountains. Last but not least, the food was truly amazing and among the best we have eaten in Bali.

Every miles to get there is worth it. Don't trust your first impression : the small track downhill, the old wooden panel does not reflect the charm of the place. It growths on you and the more time you spent there, the better it is. You really learn to appreciate it. When walking downhill with our hosts, (they help you carrying the luggages), you can see jackfruit, cocoa, ricefields, coffee trees, coconut trees. The two rooms are on top of a small hill, like a small island surrounded by ricefields and the jungle. In the evening, for tow hours only, the noises of the crickets is as violent as an alarm, and surprised us. When darkness has come, their songs are replaced by the sounds of the frogs... The children could experienced walking barefoot in the ricefield mud, that was fun for all of us. They could shower in the beautiful shower (hot water runs through a bamboo pipe, walls are covered with mousse and wild plants). Rooms are big and nicely decorated.We had probably the best food of our trip at Tepi Sawah Lodge : no menu, no choice. Just trust your host and you will get plenty of small delicious meal to add to your rice. Like the dinner, the breakfast is delicious : plenty of fruits, toasts, coffee, pancakes and grilled bananas. When the night has come, we could hear really good blues : our hosts were playing guitar, harmonica and singing a very good blues...

We really liked the lodge very much! The location was in the jungle between two ricefields, amazing! Only 20 minutes drive to the Jatiluwih ricefields, we but it seemed in the middle of the jungle, so great!At night you could hear the crickets and the frogs. So peaceful!Every day we had another Balinese breakfast which was great. Also, we had a cooking class to make typical Balinese dishes. This was the best experience! The Owner and the personel are very nice and helpfull. We could ask anything we wanted.We can really recommend this stay for the experience traveller, very idyllic!

We absolutely loved our stay at Tepi Sawah Lodge... we were quite sad to leave our little haven in the jungle. The location is green, green, green and oh so peaceful. There are only two rooms which means quite often you have the entire place to yourself to sit and listen to the frogs and watch the fireflies of an evening.We arrived quite late on the first night and Adi kindly went into town to organise some takeaway dinner and beers. The next day we went on a hike with Kadek to Pura Luhur Batukaru then through the beautiful rice fields of Tabanan before exploring Jatiluwih. It was one of our best days travelling in Indonesia... Kadek is a veritable font of knowledge regarding local plants ( culinary and medicinal). That night he picked galangal flowers, chillies, herbs and young fern fronds from the garden and cooked an amazing meal of traditional lawar, corn fritters and tempeh. Delicious!!Adi and Dewi who own and manage Tepi Sawah treat you like family and cannot do enough to make you comfortable. I feel like I now have lifetime friends after spending 3 days in the lodge. The location is set in beautiful surroundings. The explorations from this point show you the real Bali with very friendly people and beautiful nature. Because the accommodation is small, only 2 rooms, there is a lot of personal attention. Kadek showed us the surroundings on trekking tours and shared a lot of information on Bali life. Breakfast was amazing, especially the little green pancakes and the sticky rice with mango. This was our best time in Bali.
